You want to work with young children, together with their families and colleagues of early childhood education services? Then you might be interested in becoming an Early Childhood Professional!
This Bachelor course, which started in September 2011, is completely new in Flanders. Via the weekly training days, theoretical education and practical experience are mutually fruitful.

Study programme
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education focuses on child development and education, health, quality, communication, teamwork and diversity in organisations that work with children. Students learn about international societal developments and innovations in the field of early childhood education and care. They are challenged to activate, empower and professionalize parents, teams and external partners to participate in the development of young children.
The Bachelor is a practice-based modular programme of 6 semesters. Students who already have a degree of higher education can choose for a shorter trajectory of 5 semesters. Every student is individually coached throughout the entire programme.
The job
Graduates from the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education can work as managers and pedagogical coaches in centers for child minders, prevention, daycare centers, out of school services, welfare organisations, family and parenting support or even start a new self-employed organisation.
International offer
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is also involved in an international programme called ‘Bridges in Education’ accessible for exchange students. Furthermore, the staff welcomes international experts to share their knowledge in a course-unit “Education and policy making in an international perspective”.
